In this blog we will learn how to add video backgrounds to your HighLevel websites and funnels. This simple feature can make your pages more engaging and visually appealing, providing that extra “pop” to capture your audience’s attention. Let’s dive into the steps and get started!
Step 1: Access Your HighLevel Dashboard
First, log into your HighLevel dashboard. For this example, we’ll be adding a video background to a funnel. I’ve already added a default template to HighLevel and made some minor modifications to enhance its appearance.
Step 2: Choose the Section for Video Background
Once your template is loaded, identify the section where you want to add the video background. In this example, the template is for a fitness club, but the process works for any type of website or funnel.
Currently, the template has a static background image. To change it to a video background, follow these steps:
- Click on the Section:
- Select the section you want to modify.
- Open Settings:
- Click on the settings cog.
Step 3: Change Background Media Type to Video
In the settings panel on the right:
- BG Media Type:
- Scroll down to find the “BG Media Type” option. It currently says “image.”
- Select Video:
- Click on “video.”
Step 4: Upload Your Video
Now, let’s upload your video:
- Upload Video:
- Click on the image button next to the video option. This will open your media library.
- Choose a Video:
- Upload a video from your computer or select one from the library. For this example, I used a clip from Pexels.com, which offers royalty-free images and videos.
Pro Tip: Make sure your video isn’t too long or large. Compress the video to reduce its file size for faster loading times.
Step 5: Adjust Video Settings
Once your video is uploaded, you might notice black bars around the edges. Here’s how to fix that:
- Video Options:
- Go to “Video Options” and select “Cover.” This will make the video cover the entire background area.
- Adjust Opacity:
- Below the cover option, you’ll find “Background Video Opacity.” Adjust the opacity to ensure your text is readable. I found that a heavy fade works best because it allows the text to pop while the video plays in the background.
Step 6: Save and Preview
Save your changes:
- Save:
- Click on “Save.”
- Preview:
- Click on “Preview” to see how the video background looks on your page. The video should load quickly and play smoothly.
Additional Options
There are a few more options you can tweak:
- Video Loop:
- If you want the video to play continuously, enable the “Video Loop” option.
- Full Width:
- Enable “Allow row to take the entire width” if you want the video to stretch across the full width of the page.
Conclusion
Adding a video background to your HighLevel website or funnel is an easy way to enhance the user experience. With just a few clicks, you can transform a static page into a dynamic and engaging one. Experiment with different videos and settings to find the perfect fit for your brand.
